Kevin Neish Leaves for Gaza

by Pete Rockwell June 15, 2011 Around fifty friends and supporters listened to Kevin Neish speak about joining the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, which is slated to set sail at the end of June. Neish spoke at his send-off which was held at the Spanish Civil War Memorial in Victoria. Israel has imposed a blockade around Gaza since 2007 which has resulted in what some have called the worlds largest concentration camp. The flotilla of 10 boats manned by up to 1500 people from 100 countries is intent on bringing medical and other humanitarian supplies which have been blocked by the Israelis, to Gaza City. After speaking to the crowd, Neish left for the airport to catch his flight to Istanbul. neish_sendoff_audio Click to hear the audio of Kevin Neish's speech.
