November 3, 2009 – Torch Relay
The Victoria Police Department holds a media briefing at it’s headquarters once a week to keep the public informed on various cases they are working on, and to seek the public’s help in solving crime.
This week, the events of the Olympic Torch relay on October 30 were the main topic of concern, and the Chief himself (Jamie Graham) made a rare appearance at the briefing, The Chief shared his thoughts on the relay and announced his intention to lobby for stronger laws against the wearing of masks in public.
VicPD spokesperson Sgt. Grant Hamilton finishes the briefing with more questions about the torch relay, as well as some brief comments on the CREST system.
B Channel is pleased to bring you this special segment. In the coming weeks we will be posting more video from our police reporter. Stay Tuned.
